Joint Stock Company (ZAO) "Prochnost" ("Strength") was organized in 1992 on the basis of the strength department of AHK "VNIIMETMASH" (the leading Russian scientific research institution in the field of heavy engineering industry).

The main activities of the Company are:

• Designing, manufacturing and delivery of non-standard equipment for metallurgical and engineering enterprises (including designing, manufacturing and introduction of non-standard weight measuring systems in technological and transport flows);
• Examination of working metallurgical equipment with further development of design and technological solutions for prevention of failures of existing constructions, extension of service life and modernization of machinery;
• Expert support of getting permits for application of metallurgical equipment (both local and foreign made);
• Expertise of industrial safety of design documentation for construction, expansion, reconstruction, technical re-equipment, mothballing and liquidation of hazardous industrial projects of metallurgical and engineering industries;
• Expertise of industrial safety of technical devices, buildings and installations at projects of metallurgical and engineering industries;.

• carries out its activity in the sphere of metallurgical and engineering industries, including buildings and installations on the base of the licenses and accreditation certificates of the Russian Federation Agency for Environmental and Nuclear Inspection and the Federal Agency for Construction and Housing and Communal Services;
• employs skilled scientific and engineering personnel having great experience in scientific research and design work;
• incorporates a laboratory of nondestructive inspection certified by the Russian Federation Agency for Environmental and Nuclear Inspection;
• employs certified experts for industrial safety in all spheres of metallurgical and engineering industries;
• employs certified specialists for calculation of strength, metallographic research, mechanical tests and measurement of metal hardness.
